The data of around 500 million Europeans has been under special protection since May 25, 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation - DSGVO for short. It is considered a milestone and a turning point in European data protection law. We will talk about this and try to analyze the extent to which the GDPR has actually ushered in a new era in a world that has long since ceased to function solely in analog form.
