Digital Product Engineering
Some endeavours go beyond what standard platforms can deliver — they require real software engineering. With architecture and maturity that holds up under audit. We have been building software of this kind for more than 30 years, based on our own standards drawn from the medical device world — and with the discipline that GxP-regulated use cases demand.
Engineering disciplines at a glance
Real software development — not platform configuration
Digital Product Engineering refers to the discipline of building software from the ground up: from requirements analysis through architecture and implementation to a fully operable, tested and maintainable application. In pharma, this is the top end of the value chain — where standard platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Veeva or Salesforce reach their limits, whether due to specialisation, regulation, performance requirements or simply because no market product exists. INOSOFT has been building this kind of software for more than 30 years, across a broad range of technologies: from medically certifiable embedded backends to AR/VR applications. What carries us through is our own engineering standards, matured over decades — in particular our orientation towards IEC 81001 as the foundation for medical device software that withstands any review.
Four disciplines along the engineering lifecycle
From the requirements workshop to an operable, validated product — with the maturity that regulated use cases need.
Requirements & Architecture
Before a single line of code is written, it must be clear what is being built and how it will hold up. We carry out requirements engineering — with methods rigorous enough for audit-grade documentation — and design software architectures that endure not just the first release but lifecycle changes, scaling and integration into existing pharma IT landscapes.
Backend & Integration
The backbone of every application: server-side logic, APIs, persistence layers, integration with line-of-business systems. We build backends in whichever stack fits — .NET, Node.js, Python — with focus on clean architecture, documented interfaces and integration into pharma-typical environments (Veeva, SAP interfaces, lab systems, identity providers).
UI/UX & Immersive Frontends
From classic web frontends to immersive AR/VR applications. UI/UX design as a discipline, not as last-minute polish. Web stacks (TypeScript, React, Vue) for standard applications — and Unreal/Unity for use cases where 3D, AR or VR genuinely add value. The latter has been a dedicated competence team within INOSOFT since 2016.
Medical Device Software & Lifecycle
Where software is part of a medical device or a regulated process, engineering alone is not enough. We work to IEC 81001 as the foundation of our medical device software practice, integrate GAMP 5.2 requirements into the development process and run DevOps with traceable test, build and release management — treating validation not as last-minute audit prep but as an architectural decision from day one.
Engineering in concert with platform, data and compliance
Custom engineering rarely stands alone — it usually touches platform decisions, data architectures and validation questions. We cover these interfaces from a single source.
Standards, methods & stacks
We are technology-agnostic — the engineering disciplines and standards set the frame. The full skill matrix with all languages, frameworks and platforms can be found in our capabilities section.
Building what is not yet there
