INOpoint is back

Practical IT knowledge, condensed and focused on the essentials.

INOpoint is back. Starting now, our newsletter will once again be published on a regular schedule—every first Tuesday of the month, 31 years after the first issue in 1995.

INOpoint operates where we operate: at the intersection of technology and regulated practice. Sometimes it covers topics that are of immediate importance in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. Other times, technology takes us outside the pharmaceutical bubble because a development is fundamentally interesting and will eventually reach areas where no one expects it today. Technology drives us—and what drives us, we share.

A Look Back

When you take a look at the old issues, what’s inside is less interesting than how they look. For over three decades, INOpoint has consistently reflected the technology it described.

The oldest issue we have is an Info fax from May 1, 1995 - “Issue 05/95.” Even back then, the headline promised “Up-to-date information, training dates, and more.” It was delivered by fax; the content focused on evening courses on Windows, Excel, and Windows 95, as well as a support hotline whose text opened with the legendary “Abort, Retry, Ignore?”

In the late 1990s, this evolved into a printed newsletter—the trade show editions for COMDEX 98 in Frankfurt and CeBIT 99 in Hanover. Thematically, everything revolved around the Year 2000 transition: With VendorBase 2000, INOSOFT was involved in Deutsche Bank AG’s Y2K project at the time—a database of over 6,500 software products whose “Year 2000 compliance” we had to guarantee.

Finally, in 2017, INOpoint was launched as a full-color in-house newsletter: HoloLens and augmented reality, JavaScript frameworks, SharePoint. The transition to digital had already been completed by then—and with it came the shift to the HTML newsletter you’re holding in your hands today.

Every First Tuesday

Starting now, we’re back to a reliable schedule: INOpoint will be published on the first Tuesday of every month—the next issue will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
